RTadmin Update menu

This is a new menu but I still have a problem in that it has too many options.

Make previous Cobol program updates permanent.

Copy cobol programs from the update area, pointed to by the environment variable RR_Prog2, to the permanent area, pointed to by the variable RR_Prog1.

Generaly called to provide a restore point before loading, new programs. These could be standard programs with changes, or custom user specific programms.

Update Roadrunner from DOS Diskette

Legacy from 1990 Roadrunner install scripts. Reads files from a DOS format floppy disk. Diskette type can be anything that is supported by the machine.

Update Roadrunner from ISO CD-ROM

Added 2002 for AIX and a little later for Linux.

Note. CD may contain a menu with multiple updates for different things.

Load Roadrunner update from tar file

Added in 2010. Will read from either of the tar files produced by the options below.

Create ISO image containing Roadtech scripts and Roadrunner programs.

Added 2002 Creates an ISO file for burning to CD/DVD. Image contains a menu with two options. One for Roadrunner, and one for the Administrative programs {Scripts}.

Create tar file containing Roadtech scripts and Roadrunner programs.

Added 2010 Tar file with the same basic layout as for the ISO image.

Create Install tape containing Roadtech scripts and Roadrunner programs.

Original 1990 install tape format, used since the first AIX system.

Create tar file containing Roadtech script update.

Tar file containg Road Tech administrative programs. these are loadable with the "Load Roadrunner update from tar file" option above.

Save nominal structure files to diskette.

Added 1991 fro training dept. Provided a simple way for a customer to bring in a copy of their Nominal Ledger structure file, when attending an accounts training session.

During the "training" sesion they could then work wih their "own" ledger structure.

The "Update Roadrunner from DOS Diskette" option above, will recognise this and load the amended back to the data area, after first making a backup copy.
